[The “Yongle” type of copper-plated Maitreya]

The “Yongle” type of copper-plated Maitreya is 23 cm high
Maitreya’s face is square and round, plump and upright, with symmetrical facial features, long and thin eyebrows and eyes, and slightly smiling in silence and tenderness. The waist is thin and the shoulder is wide. The shoulder and waist are inverted triangles. There are lotus flowers and pots on the shoulder. The decoration of treasure crown, tassel, necklace, ear pawn and so on is complicated. The base is a double-layer inverted lotus. The upper and lower parts of the lotus base are inlaid with a neat bead pattern. The upper part of the base is carved with the “Yongle Nian Shi of the Ming Dynasty” in the middle
The bronze statue of “Yongle” was specially cast by the Ming court for the award of local government officials and religious elites in Tibet. The caster selected superior copper materials and advanced casting techniques, and combined the styles of Tibetan and Han statues. The “Yongle” bronze statue is luxurious and exquisite. It is unique among the numerous statues
