The second floor square box of the red fishing picture

[The second square box of the red fishing map]

The second square box of the red fishing map, in the early Ming Dynasty, was 6.2 cm in height and 5.5 cm in diameter. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The box is square, square and double. The surface is carved with three kinds of brocade patterns of sky, water and ground. The fishing picture is carved on the surface: the moon reflects the river bank, and an old man looks up at the moon with a fishing rod under the sparse forest. The artistic conception is quiet. Although the composition is rough and concise, it is not disappointing. The characters are vivid and finely carved. The wall is carved with peony flowers. Inside the cover is a poem inscribed by the Emperor in 1783, the forty-eighth year of Qianlong’s reign: “Jingnan soldiers call Yongle back, and the orchard lacquerware is well made. The box picture is fishing for an old man, and Guangxiao should be drawn to Guangzhang. Qianlong Guimao inscribed the poem.” And sealed with “Bide” and “Langrun”
According to the pattern and carving style of the box, it should be the work of the early Ming Dynasty, but the right edge of the bottom of the box painted with black paint is carved with a knife and filled with gold “Yongle Year System of the Ming Dynasty” vertical regular script, which is different from the common Yongle needle fine style, and should be the fake style carved when the bottom is painted
