[Red sandalwood carving box with dragon and pearl pattern]
Ming, 32.5 cm high, 85.5 cm long and 62.5 cm wide
The box is made of rosewood and rectangular. The front side is engraved with the sea water river cliff pattern, double dragons playing pearl pattern and scattered clouds, and the two sides are engraved with the Bogu pattern and flower pattern in the center. The front cover of the box and the closure of the box are installed with round leaves and rackets for locking, and copper lifting rings are installed on both sides. The joint between the box cover and the box has a sub-opening inside and a convex line outside, which is a common practice of the Ming style box. The practice of carving patterns on rosewood furniture is rare.
