[Agate single dragon ear cup]
Agate single dragon ear cup, bright, 6.8 cm high, 9 cm caliber
The cup is made of flowered agate, with yellowish-brown markings in the gray-white agate. The utensil is irregular and round. A dragon is embossed on one side as the handle of the cup. The two forelimbs and mouth of the dragon are placed on the rim of the cup. The lower limbs and tail of the dragon are connected with the peach blossom branches and leaves in shallow relief on the outer wall of the utensil and form the utensil feet. The bottom is carved with the four characters of “Qianlong system” in official script
The shape of this agate cup is the system of the Ming Dynasty. The carving technique is the jade carving technique of the Ming Dynasty. The style should be carved after the reign of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty.
