[Jade Valley Pattern Gui]

Jade Valley Pattern Gui is bright, 21.3 cm high, 6.3 cm wide, and 0.9 cm thick. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The surface of the jade is of old color, thick and flaky, and there is a raised corner on the top. The decorative patterns on both sides are the same, with 5 rows of raised grain patterns. The lower part of the Gui is square and inserted into the rosewood base decorated with gold patterns. The top of the wooden block is carved with sea water and river cliffs, and under it is carved with Kui dragon patterns. The four sides of the block are decorated with 12 groups of patterns, which are ancient “twelve chapters”. The groove at the insertion of the Gui is carved with six characters of “made in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty”
A number of such gugui were found in the tombs of the Ming Dynasty, which were adorned by aristocratic women. The wooden seat of Yugui was made by the Qing court.
