The four-body thousand-character essay is written in seal, official, cursive and regular script. It took three years from the forty-second year (1614) of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty to the forty-fourth year (1616) of Wanli. This volume of seal script was written in the autumn of 1614, and it was signed “On the second day of July 10, Jiayin of Wanli, Lu Shiren’s seal script”, and sealed “Chenghu” and “Wenjin”. The official seal was written by Xia Shucheng in 1615, with the signature of “Lu Shiren wrote on the fifth day of April 20 in the summer of Wanli Yimao”, and the seal of “Wen Jin” and “Lu Sheng in Wujun”. The cursive script was written in the winter of 1615. It was signed with “Lu Shiren’s letter on January 10th and the first day of the winter of Wanli Yimao”, sealed with “Lu Shiren’s seal” and “Henan Neutron”. The regular script was written in the summer of 1616, with the signature of “the hope of the third birthday of Wanli in the summer and May, the book of Lu Shiren in Wujun”, and the seal of “Wenjin” and “Shiren”. The calligraphy of this volume is neat and stable, round, vigorous and elegant. Because of the style and style of the characters, the seal script is warm and simple, the official script is calm and simple, and the cursive and regular script are slightly sharp and vigorous, which is more like the way Wen Zhengming uses the pen. After the volume, Guangming, the son of Lu Shiren, read: “The first gentleman learned the official script of Taishi when he was young. He copied every word of it, and almost entered the room.”
