Chengni Kui Inkstone is bright, 16.8 cm long, 10.5 cm wide and 3.6 cm thick
The inkstone is made of clear mud. The face of the inkstone is in the shape of a bunch-neck double connection, with a shallow open inkstone hall and an oval inkstone pool at the top. Its surface frame is carved with cloud pattern, and the neck is embossed with Ruyi cloud pattern. The surrounding of the inkstone is decorated with complicated Kui patterns and animal face patterns, which are simple and ancient. The back of the inkstone is deeply concave in the shape of a ring channel. It can also be used as an inkstone pool and inkstone hall to receive ink. Both sides can be used for grinding ink. Two animal feet protrude from the bottom
This inkstone is fine in mud and light yellow in color. The design is novel and the production is exquisite. It is also equipped with a jade lacquer box with black paint inside, which is a popular form of inkstone box in the Ming and Qing dynasties
