This picture axis is an outstanding masterpiece of Lu embroidery. It is made of silk, with dark satin as the ground, and is embroidered with double twisted multicolored silk thread. The stone and flower petals are embroidered by imitating the halo technique of Chinese painting, and the effect is lifelike. In the picture, the lotus is delicate and gorgeous, the double ducks and the flowers and trees are full of vitality, and the style is different from the fine silk and light color of Jiangnan Suzhou embroidery, reflecting the simple and vigorous characteristics of northern folk embroidery
The embroidery workers in this picture follow the tradition of Lu embroidery, and use the techniques of covering needle, seeding, connecting needle, oblique winding needle, live-hair needle, “Hehe needle, braid strand needle, flat needle, etc. The diameter of the embroidery thread varies from 0.02-0.05cm, depending on the priority of the pattern. This drawing axis has fine stitches, neat and uniform embroidery, sparse and clear silk texture, and smooth and beautiful lines. It uses more than 20 kinds of colorful lines to give full play to the vigorous, bold and beautiful features of Lu embroidery. Compared with the original painting, it highlights the three-dimensional sense of relief in the painting.
