The mountain jade is made of turquoise jade, carving three-dimensional mountain forest scenery. The lower part of the work is a mountain stone, which is shaded by tall trees and covered with peach fruit. Under the tree, an old man stands in the wind, wearing a long robe and a short jacket. His left hand touches the fawn beside him, and his right hand holds Ruyi. Under the cliff, there is a fawn with ganoderma lucidum in its mouth, looking up at the old man on the stone
Yushan has a unique layout, with the theme of good luck and longevity in the shape of peach, deer, Ruyi and the elderly. The carving technique was adopted during the processing. There are many carving holes in the work to show the weathering and perforation of the rocks. The branches and leaves of the trees are finely carved, shaped according to the situation, and the corners are polished and rounded, which has the typical modeling style of the Ming Dynasty jade carving art. This kind of jade carving works is mainly used for indoor furnishings, and is now known as “ornaments”.
