Song Tuo Southern Song Wuling Post

[Song Tuo Southern Song Wuling Calligraphy]

The Wuling Calligraphy is a remnant of the ink painting, saved in 20 pages and mounted in one volume. Each opening is about 26cm long and 13cm horizontal
The Stone Carving Narration by Zeng Hongfu of the Song Dynasty said: “The twenty-two volumes of Wuling Posts, Zhang Shuji, the governor of Shaoxing in October of the 11th year of Xinyou, collected the secret pavilion and the postscript of Hetan, Jiang, Linjiang, Ru and Hai, and whether or not he attended the school, and filled in his left column to complete the book. The titles of county officials are listed later.” Also said: “After the six volumes, there are the famous ministers’ notes of the past dynasties. At the end of the ten volumes, there are the two king’s notes, ending at the beginning of the seventeen volumes. At the end of the twenty volumes, there are Yan Lugong’s notes in half. Zhang Changshi’s cursive script is also a horizontal publication, which is one fifth more than the pavilion and Jiang Mingxian’s notes. At the end of the last volume, there are also Zujiang’s notes, and the hall is in Li Jianzhong’s words, which are more detailed than the other notes. However, the wood-based version is known as the old stone tablet, which has never been seen before.” According to the inscription of the official script at the end of the incomplete version, there is “On the 8th day of the first month of the 11th year of Shaoxing, the secret pavilion was used to check the attendance of the school and to supplement the list of the school. The book was divided into 20 volumes and engraved with the state rule to spread its spread. The 11th year of Shaoxing saw the sun in October.” There were also 11 official titles and surnames listed in the official script, including “Hu Zhifu, the chief editor of Wuling County, Dingzhou, Youdi Gong Lang”, and the last one was “Zhang Shule, the official of the state army and horse bandit”. After careful examination of the way of writing and the mouth of the words, it is indeed from the woodblock, which is basically consistent with what Zeng wrote, so it should be the true copy of the Song Dynasty Wuling Calligraphy (also known as “Ding Calligraphy”). Among them, there are 11 calligraphers including Lu Yun in the Jin Dynasty, 4 calligraphers including Xiao Sihua in the Liang Dynasty, 3 calligraphers including Mao Xi in the Chen Dynasty, and Zhi Yong in the Sui Dynasty, all of which belong to the category of six to ten volumes of the original “famous ministers’ notes in the past dynasties”. The suspicious ones are the first line of official script with the headline “Ding Tie Volume 12” and the second line of regular script with the subtitle “Wang Daling Book”. The former is not consistent with what Zeng Hongfu wrote; The latter is not compatible with other subtitles in the post (such as “Ruan Xianshu, the governor of Jin Shiping”). For the former, Mr. Zhu Yixuan added Zhu Pi and said, “According to the original name of the tripod post, Wuling post, each volume imitates the style of the pavilion post: ‘Which is the number of the legacies of the famous officials of the past dynasties’, with the word’ Wuling ’embedded under it, and there is no straight book’ Ding post ‘.” For the latter, he said, “The official and private posts of the Song Dynasty are all the official and title of the book, and there is no such name.”. These two lines of ink are obviously different from the back, and the paper has seams, which should be added by Tijia because the incomplete version is not easy to sell
Wuling County of Dingzhou in the Song Dynasty is now Changde City, Hunan Province. Because of the emperor’s preference for calligraphy, the style of engraving calligraphy prevailed in the Song Dynasty. It is a noteworthy phenomenon in the history of culture and calligraphy that a grass-roots state and county can actually make a set of voluminous large clusters of posters that are quite good at copying and extending. From this point of view, although this book is incomplete, it still has high historical value. This volume has Mr. Zhu Yiyi’s signature on the inside and outside, and a long postscript on the back. The collection is printed with “Wang Dashan”, “Yutang Scholar” and “Yiyi Approved Jinshi Calligraphy and Painting Records”
The main descriptions of Wuling Posts include: Song Cao Shimian’s “Fa Tie Pedigree”, Yuan Chen Yizeng’s “Hanlin Key”, Ming Wang Zuo’s “New Ge Gu Key”, Wang Keyu’s “Coral Net”, Qing Sun Chengze’s “Xianzhexuan Posts”, Cheng Wenrong’s “Nancun Posts”, modern Ouyang Fu’s “Collection of Ancient and Truth”, modern Lin Zhijun’s Posts “, Zhang Yansheng’s” Good Book Tablet Posts “, etc.
