The flowerpot is six-petaled sunflower. Folding edge, deep belly, circle foot, six straight lines are raised and concave in and out of the basin wall. The inside and outside are full of glaze, the glaze color is rose purple, and the edges and lines are brown. There are five round holes in the bottom, and the number “seven” is engraved on the outsole
This flowerpot is a product of Guanjun in Yuzhou, Henan Province. It is a porcelain for palace decoration. The shapes of Guanjun kiln porcelain in the Northern Song Dynasty mainly include flowerpots, flowerpot holders, halberds, etc. The glaze uses the different characteristics of iron and copper to burn a variety of color glazes, such as copper red kiln or pure azure, moon white and so on, with a high temperature reduction flame, which has changed the situation in which single-color glazes dominated in the past.
