[Jun Kiln Moon White Glazed Rectangular Flower Pot Holder]
Jun Kiln Moon White Glazed Rectangular Flower Pot Holder, North Song Dynasty, 5.7 cm high, 18.8 cm horizontal, 15.2 cm vertical
The flowerpot holder is rectangular. The mouth is slightly extravagant outside, folded along, with corners, shallow abdominal wall, and four cloud-head-shaped feet underneath. The interior and exterior are painted with moon-white glaze, the thin edges and edges of the glaze are brown, and the outer bottom is painted with brown glaze, engraved with the numeral “nine”, and with a week of burning nail marks. There is a round hole for water seepage in the upper left corner and the lower right corner, which has been filled. From the perspective of shape, this is a flowerpot holder, not a flowerpot, so there should be no seepage holes at the bottom, and if there are any, it should be five instead of two. Therefore, the two round holes on the flowerpot holder should be created by later generations
There are many types of flowerpots fired in Jun kiln, including sunflower petal, rhomboid, begonia, bell, square, rectangle, etc., which are exquisite in workmanship and unique in shape, and are all used for palace furnishings
