[Geyao blue-glazed fish ear furnace]
Geyao blue-glazed fish ear furnace, Song Dynasty, 9 cm high, 11.8 cm caliber, 9.6 cm foot diameter
The shape of this furnace imitates the bronze sacrificial vessel Gui of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. The “S” shape contour line is full and full, and outlines a dignified and full posture. Fish-shaped ears are symmetrically placed on both sides of the abdomen, and the lower part is connected with a ring foot. The shape is simple and elegant. The whole body is painted with blue-gray glaze, and the glaze is densely woven with “golden wire” split pattern, which makes the plain glaze full of rhythmic beauty. There are 6 round nail marks on the outsole
This fish-ear stove belongs to the old collection of the Qing Dynasty Palace. The Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty appreciated it very much. He drew up a poem while playing with it, and it was engraved on the outside of the stove by Gong Tingyu as a craftsman’s regular script. Shiyun:
I have been surprised to hear of the change in the evening incense
It is made from fish ears, and its color is like the pattern of eel
There was no fire, but there seemed to be clouds
See where the root of the nose can be divided after eight
The payment is signed with “Qianlong C Shen Zhongchun Yu Ti”
The fish-ear stove is named for its ability to burn incense and its fish-shaped ears are placed on both sides of the stove body. It is a famous product in the porcelain of Ge Kiln in the Song Dynasty. Although imitations were handed down in the Yuan and Ming dynasties, they all seemed to be divine and could not match the charm of the original.
