The whole body of the disc is in the shape of 14 petals chrysanthemum, with arc belly and circle foot. The inside, outside and inside of the ring foot are all painted with gray cyan glaze, and the glaze surface is divided by the “golden wire” like split pattern. There is no glaze on the sole of the foot, and the black fetal bone is exposed
When designing ceramic shapes, ancient Chinese artists and ceramic craftsmen are good at drawing inspiration from natural animals and plants. Frog, tiger, sunflower and chrysanthemum shapes are common. This chrysanthemum-petal plate has a regular shape, is wrapped in blue-gray glaze, and interwoven with a network of open patterns. It is a wonderful example of ancient ceramics imitating the shape of flowers
