[Yuming Duanshi Xiutu Inkstone]

Yuming Duanshi Xiutu Inkstone is 25.9 cm long, 16.4 cm wide and 8.4 cm high in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty
The inkstone is made of end stone and is rectangular. Inkstone surface and side are engraved with the picture of Orchid Pavilion Elegant Collection. The inkstone is flat and wide, and the upper part is surrounded by trees and pavilions, which can be called ink pool. The back of the inkstone is deep and broad, and the picture of ducks in Liutang is carved. The inscription of Emperor Qianlong’s Imperial Inkstone is engraved on the inside, saying: “In the Song Dynasty, the end of the stream was difficult, and the painting of the Orchid Pavilion was more romantic. One of the villa has become a treasure, and the search for four of them has been carried out. They have taken good care of their words, and they are still ashamed to play with their eyes and ears. They still sit in the right army, and still have nothing to write.” After the sentence, the inscription of “Qianlong Renyin’s Imperial Inscription in the Midspring” is signed, and the two seals of “Guxiang” and “Taihu” are sealed. “Renyin” refers to the 47th year of Qianlong (1782)
This inkstone is decorated with the story of the Lanting Festival, which is of great literati taste. It is placed in the script and full of splendor. The inkstone is shaped with a red sandalwood box, and the box surface is inlaid with white jade openwork dragon wear decorative patterns, which should be the decorative feature of the inkstone in the Qianlong period
