[Blue glaze jar with ear cap]

Blue glaze jar with ear cap, five generations, with a height of 18.6 cm, a diameter of 7.2 cm, and a foot diameter of 8.2 cm
The pot is straight, full of shoulders, gradually converging under the shoulders, and round the feet. With flat top straight round cover. The inside and outside are covered with celadon glaze, the glaze is bright and glossy, and there are fine lines
This jar is one of the four jars with ear caps unearthed from the South Han Tomb in Shima Village, Guangzhou. The design of this kind of ear jar is taken from the southern wooden barrel style, which appears novel and unique. A pair of square systems with holes are erected on both sides of the tank shoulder, and the plates with holes are also protruding on both sides of the cover. When the tank cover is buckled, the plates with holes protruding from the cover are clamped at the gap between the two systems on the shoulder. One end can be tied or inserted as a shaft, and the other end can be opened. The jars with the same shape and ears were found not only in the products of Yue Kiln in Zhejiang Province and Changsha Kiln in Hunan Province, but also in the funerary products of the five dynasties tombs in Changsha. It can be seen that this kind of jar with ear cap was quite popular in Jiangnan area during the Five Dynasties.
