“On the balcony”, Tang Dynasty, Li Bai’s script, paper version, 28.5 cm vertically and 38.1 cm horizontally. Five lines of cursive script, 25 words in total
“On the balcony” is a four-character poem written by Li Bai. Explanation:
“The mountains are high and the rivers are long, and there are thousands of objects. Without the old pen, the Qing Dynasty can be strong and poor. On the 18th, Taibai was written in the sun.”
The four words “Qinglian Yihan” in the Hongli regular script of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty were introduced, and the inscription of Zhao Ji’s thin gold book of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty on the upper right of the text: “Tang Li Taibai went to the balcony”
On the back of the paper are Zhao Ji, Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty, Zhang Yan of the Yuan Dynasty, Du Ben, Ouyang Xuan, Wang Jingqing, Wei Su, Zou Lu, and the inscription and postscript of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty
On the front and back of the volume and across the water are the seals of Song Zhao Mengjian’s “Zigu”, “Zhaizhai”, Jia Sidao’s “Autumn Gully Book”, Yuan’s “Zhang Yan’s Private Seal”, “Ouyang’s Xuan Seal”, Ming Xiang Yuanbian, Qing Liang Qingbiao, An Qi, Qing Neifu, and modern Zhang Boju
This is the only handwriting handed down by Li Bai. When he finished his writing, Huang Tingjian of the Song Dynasty commented on Li Bai: “Look at his manuscripts and books. There are many kinds of his poems, which make people think deeply. Bai was in Kaiyuan and Zhide, and he can’t write and pass on, but his actions and grass are not inferior to those of the ancients.” (“The Valley Inscription”)
This post once entered Xuanhe’s internal office, and then returned to Jia Sidao. Zhang Yanchu of the Yuan Dynasty, and Xiang Yuanbian’s Tianlai Pavilion in the Ming Dynasty, were hidden. In the Qing Dynasty, it was obtained by Anqi first, then entered the inner palace, and then left the palace at the end of the Qing Dynasty. In the Republic of China, Zhang Boju entered the hands and dedicated himself to the country after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In 1958, this post was transferred to the Palace Museum for collection
There are records in books such as “Moyuan Huiguan” by Anqi in the Qing Dynasty and “Shiqu Treasure Collection – First Chapter” by Neifu
