The statue is square, with a pagoda in the middle of the front. The pagoda is divided into three layers. Sakyamuni and Duobao sit side by side at the bottom, and Buddha sits on each of the upper two floors. There are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas on the left and right sides of the tower, and the inscription on the back is: “In May of the year of the National Emblem of the Great Hall, the monks and nuns of the Xiangsi Monastery made a copy of the Duobao Buddha for their parents to worship and remember.” The word “Tang” should be used as the homonym of “Tang”, which is borrowed from the common customs
The Buddha statues in the Tang Dynasty showed a trend of diversification, and “good karma mud” was one of them. There are also many pagodas, Buddhist sayings and other topics. This kind of statue does not need to spend a lot of money, but it can also achieve the “good karma” claimed by the Buddha, which is naturally popular with the people of the time, especially the ordinary people. Therefore, making good karma mud has become the natural choice of good men and women.
