[Wang Xizhi’s cursive script after the rain (copy of the Song Dynasty)]
The page of the “post after the rain”, Jin, Chuan Jin Wang Xizhi’s book, paper, cursive script, 25.7 cm in length and 14.9 cm in width
Interpretation:
Today, after the rain, I failed to present a statement. If I want to be able to speak, I will be able to ask questions in a book. There is no such thing as magic. I believe with Duxia, and Dai Shitao. Xizhi
There is an inscription of “Yu Min” under the signature
There are “Shinan”, “Zhenguan” (painting and ink printing), “four generations of Xiangyin” (Zhuwen, fake), “Zhidong Qiyu” (Zhuwen, fake), “Shaoxing” (Zhuwen Lianzhu), and the Qianlong, Jiaqing and Xuantong internal government seals in the Qing Dynasty
There are Deng Wenyuan of the Yuan Dynasty, Dong Qichang of the Ming Dynasty and Zou Zhilin of the Ming Dynasty
“Post the Rain” is a communication letter written by Wang Xizhi. The matter discussed cannot be examined. The characters in the book are not standardized enough and individual characters are difficult to recognize
This post was first seen in the Moyuan Huiguan written by Anqi in the Qing Dynasty: “After the rain, cursive script, paper version, Tang model, with the ‘Shinan’ ink seal.” Now experts believe that this post is not the original handwriting of Wang Xizhi, based on three reasons: First, the seal seal before the Qing Dynasty on this post is not true except for “Shaoxing”. Calligraphy is indeed dignified and elegant, but it is far from the comparison with “Aunt”, “Funeral” and “Preface to Orchid Pavilion”. Second, from the perspective of paper use, the paper is dark brown bamboo paper with fine horizontal curtain patterns. While bamboo paper was not available in the Jin Dynasty, Song Sushi’s “Dongpo Zhilin” Volume 9 once said: “Today people use bamboo as paper, which is also not available in ancient times.” The third is that the writing tool in the Jin Dynasty is a solid pen. When writing, the pen is split and often appears a thief. However, the “Post the Rain” uses a double brush. The strokes are soft and fat, and the strokes between the lines are linked and there is a lead wire. There is no thief, so it should not be written in the Jin Dynasty
According to the observation of the change of the ink color of this post, it is consistent with the opening and closing of the pen, Xu Ji and the force of the abrupt turning, and there is no trace of tracing. Therefore, it is judged that this post should be an ancient copy, written from the Northern Song Dynasty to Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty
