[Blue jade beast button “Liu Xianchen” seal]
Blue jade beast button “Liu Xianchen” seal, Chinese, printed 2.6 × 2.6 cm, 2.4 cm high
The private seal of the Han Dynasty, made of sapphire, has animal buttons. The font of the seal is Chinese seal and white text. Read the words “Liu Xianchen” from the right. The text layout is rigorous, the strokes are consistent in thickness, the text is clear and strong, and the skeleton is strong. The sapphire is scattered with yellowish-brown spots, and the pieces are like smoke, like sink, like float, and quaint
The text layout of the three-character private printing is that the surname occupies one side, and the first name is listed separately. This is the common practice of the Chinese printing, and has nothing to do with the complexity of the single-character strokes of the printed text. Among the seals of the Han Dynasty, there were a small number of snake buttons or fish buttons in the early animal themes. Later, tortoise buttons were the most common, and sometimes sheep buttons appeared. Other animal themes were mostly used for printing, and became the Xiao shape seal. The button system of this seal is relatively rare. The divine beast lies on its plate, opens its mouth and canthus, and has a vigorous posture. It seems to be a variant of the copper seal button for avoiding evil. The three characters of the printed text are introverted and the margin around the printed face is relatively wide, which is also the style of the printed face after the end of the Han Dynasty.
