[The king of Chu’s tripod]

The king of Chu’s tripod is 59.7 cm high, 60.5 cm wide, 46.6 cm in diameter and 53.8 kg in weight
The tripod has a round body, three hoof-shaped feet, two appendages, a cover, three short feet on the cover, and a button in the middle of the cover can be pierced. The appendage, lid and tripod are decorated with fine cobra patterns, and the head of the beast is decorated on the top of the foot
The inside and outside of the cover are engraved with the inscription 19 characters at three places along the mouth:
(inside the cover) three sets of kitchens
(outside the cover) Set kitchen “0044” tripod
(The mouth of the utensil) The king of Chu made a tripod for the year
The inscription records that the tripod was forged by the king of Chu for the annual sacrifice and placed in the kitchen
This tripod was unearthed in Zhujiaji, Shouxian County, Anhui Province in 1933
