Painted Paint Carved Seat Screen, Warring States Chu, 13.2 cm high and 49 cm wide
This screen was unearthed in the Warring States Chu Tomb, No. 1, Tianxing Temple, Jiangling, Jingzhou. It is made of wood and consists of a convex seat and a rectangular screen. The middle of the screen is separated by standing wood, with a dragon carved on both sides. The dragons are facing each other, and their tails are connected. They stare at each other, spit out their tongues, bend their bodies, and curl up their claws to make the appearance of desire. The seat screen is painted black. The front and back slopes of the base are embossed with cloud patterns, and the sides at both ends of the base and the standing wood are decorated with triangular cloud patterns. All decorations are painted in red, yellow and gold.
