Gui has a round body, a deep belly, two ears on both sides of the abdomen, a rabbit head on the upper part of the ear, a small ear under the ear, a relief animal face on the front and back of the Gui neck, eye thunder patterns on the left and right, and animal face patterns on the Gui foot. The inscription “Ge Ji” is cast on the bottom of the Gui. It can be seen that this Gui is a sacrificial device of the “Ge” family
Gui is an important sacrificial instrument in the Bronze Age. It first appeared in the Shang Dynasty and lasted until the Warring States Period. It was rarely seen after the Warring States Period. Gui is mostly used in even numbers.
