Bowl (y ú yin yu), skimming mouth, cylindrical belly, flat bottom. Sand-filled red pottery, with thick wall and rough surface. Cishan culture was first discovered in Cishan Village, Wu’an County, Hebei Province in 1972. According to scientific tests, its age is about 6000 – 5600 BC, and it belongs to the cultural relics of the Middle Neolithic Age in North China. A bowl is a utensil for holding soup or food. The red pottery with sand can improve the heat resistance of the pottery, so this red pottery bowl may be a cooker.
