[Jade Beast-shaped Jue]
Jade Beast-shaped Jue, 15.4 cm high, 10.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm thick. Hongshan Culture in the Neolithic Age
The ring is made of cyan jade and has many spots on the surface. The whole is annular, and there is an opening on one side, which is not disconnected. One end of the opening is the head of the animal, and the other end is the tail of the animal. The body of the animal is bent into a ring, and there are two small holes in the neck
At present, many Hongshan cultural sites have unearthed this type of utensil, which represents a deified animal and reflects a wide range of animal worship. There are few works with double holes in the neck. This ring may be due to the unsatisfactory position of the hole worn during manufacturing and the unsatisfactory inclination of the work when hanging, so a second hole was drilled. This work is a relic of the Qing Dynasty palace, which shows that the Qing Dynasty palace once collected jade articles of Hongshan culture
