Double tiger head jade pendant

[Double tiger head shaped jade decoration]

12 cm in length, 5.4 cm in height, 2.4 cm in maximum width and 0.5 cm in thickness
Unearthed in 1987 at Lingjiatan Site in Hanshan, Anhui Province, it is now in the Palace Museum
The jade huang was unearthed in the middle of the south of the tomb, and has been completely albinized with yellow-brown soil spots on the surface. The two ends are carved in the shape of tiger’s head, and the hole diameter is only 0.15 cm. The side of the tiger’s head is carved with yin lines, and the wrinkled skin patterns of the tiger’s nose, mouth and neck are carved with a few strokes. There are three claws under the curved neck, and there are curved lines and arcs beside it, which distinguish the head and neck from the body and abdomen, and the two sides are the same. The distinctive shape and lifelike manner of the tiger show that people in the Neolithic Age accurately grasped the image of animals in nature
