- Description:
This is a long scroll of the imperial court painters Sun Hu (who lived in the middle of the 18th century), Zhou Kun (who lived in the first half of the 18th century) and Ding Guanpeng (1706-1770) who cooperated with the imperial court in the sixth year of Qianlong’s reign (1741). The first half of the paragraph seems to take the allusion of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty who recruited talented people from the literature hall, and the eighteen painting scholars carried out various literary and artistic activities in the pavilion. It is interesting that the second half of the paragraph seems to continue the “Spring Dawn in the Han Palace”, depicting the scene of women in the palace Yan collecting flowers and enjoying antiques. The crop portrait is delicately depicted and brightly painted, which is a typical example of court painting in the early Qianlong Dynasty.
