  • Description:
These two sets of albums are based on Dong Bangda’s Forty Views of the West Lake, which he presented before his first southern tour. The first set of scrolls records the imperial poems of the first southern tour, which may have been pasted on the wall of the Old Summer Palace, and the painting is slightly damaged. The upper poem pond of the second set of scrolls records the ten scene poems written by Emperor Qianlong during his first two southern tours, while the lower poem pond is the poems of eight Ci ministers, which creates a sense of harmony between the emperor and his ministers. “Broken Bridge and Canxue” depicts the scene of “Broken Bridge” at the east end of Baidi. It is said that this place has a broad view, which is most suitable for viewing the snow covered scenery of the West Lake.
