  • Description:
This artifact was made by a craftsman in the Qing Palace. It was used as a wooden base for the collection of the narcissus basin (hence 13977 porcelain) of Ru kiln in the Northern Song Dynasty in the Qing Palace. The upper and lower sides of the seat are oval, the abdomen is slightly bulged, and a drawer is arranged inside. As many joint marks can be seen on the surface, it is speculated that it is made of multiple pieces of wood. In addition, although the block is slightly damaged, the surface is still covered with carvings. In the middle of the seating surface, there are nine flower patterns with branches and leaves intersecting and arranged symmetrically. Around the seating surface, there are another flower pattern with branches connected. On the side, there are two decorative ribbons. The belly of the drum is composed of wood pieces with high and low levels interlaced. The high part is carved with curly flowers and curly grass patterns, while the low part has no decorative patterns. Turning to the bottom of the seat, it can be seen that the seal is engraved with “Rest at the Palace”, and “Play”, “Bide”, and “Langrun”.
