  • Dynasty: Qing dynasty
  • Category: Jades
  • Function: Container
  • Material: Minerals/Jade Jewelry/Jade
  • Description:
Light green jade, carved into a round bowl with a deep belly and feet. Unlike the typical Mengwuer jade bowl, which starts from the lower edge of the abdominal wall on both sides to carve the broad to thin, upward extending acanthus tuberosus leaf patterns, this jade bowl is only decorated with a leaf pattern with sharp ends in the middle of the wall on one side, and a pendulous bud extends from the upper end. The leaf patterns and flower buds are carved very stiffly. The upper and lower edges of the abdominal wall are embossed with a pattern of acanthus villosus leaves, the middle part of the abdominal wall is carved with a window pattern, and each window is carved with a bunch of flowers. The windowed pattern structure is popular on Türkiye’s jade articles, and the petals or leaf petals are often ground into a round concave shape. However, although the petals of this jade bowl are also ground concave, there is still a convex line in the center of the round concave surface. It can be seen from the overall observation that this bowl should be an Indian work under the influence of Türkiye.
