- Description:
Jinyue is an arc shaped headdress used by the Empress Dowager and her concubines and life wives at all levels in ceremonies. It is worn around the forehead, with the bead strap at the back. The inlaid materials, the number of beads and the shape of pendants vary according to the identity level. Those inlaid with lapis lazuli and east beads are above the level of concubines. The lapis lazuli gold contract, which is made by connecting twelve golden brackets in the courtyard collection, still has the yellow ink signature of the 13th year of Daoguang. The two sections are inlaid with gold clouds and beads. According to the Imperial Ritual Ware Pattern, the imperial concubine and the imperial concubine Jin are in line with the rule that “there are two out of ten east pearls”.
