Jade is flat and square, long and flat, and one end is slightly folded and carved into a round shaft. The flat side is a special large hairpin decorated by Manchu women when they comb the flag head. Two bundles of hair are wrapped around it to form a horizontal bun. These hairpins are flat and straight.
