- Image Number: K1D001244N000000000PAB
- Dynasty: Qing dynasty
- Category: Miscellaneous objects
- Function: Furnisher
- Material: Minerals/Metals/Silver
- Description:
The silver carving takes the trunk of a orchid tree as its tenor, emphasizing the texture and posture of the trunk. In the tenor, there is a half method of sitting with a lotus goddess of mercy, a lotus leaf boy sitting in the front, and on the back, there is a model of “the imperial palace in Qianlong Bingxu’s autumn month imitating the silver worker Zhu Bishan of the Yuan Dynasty”, which was imitated by the imperial palace in the 31st year of Qianlong’s reign (1756). The imitated “Zhu Bishan” silver tenor is now in the Forbidden City of Beijing. The common style of Zhang Qian riding on the tenor is changed, which shows the continuity and development of carved silverware in the Qing Dynasty.
