Lang Shining (1688-1766), Italian. At the age of 19, he joined the Catholic Jesuit Church as a monk. He studied oil painting and architecture. He came to China at the age of 27 to preach and served the Inner Court with pictures. He served in the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties. The painting method refers to China and the West. He is good at painting people, flowers and birds, especially dogs and horses.
