The case is engraved with a crown shaped ring, with the Chinese word “Bo” inside, which is the Chinese translation of the brand name of the Swiss watchmaking family Buvet. Established in Guangzhou in the first half of the 19th century, it is one of the earliest European watchmakers to open up the Chinese watch market.
