Wang Hui (1632-1717 AD) was born in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. The word “Stone Valley” is used for farming and scattering people. He was instructed by Wang Jian and Wang Shimin successively to paint landscapes. He was very skilled in appreciating and copying ancient paintings. His painting skills were praised as the first in the Qing Dynasty, and he, together with Wang Shimin, Wang Jian and Wang Yuanqi, was called the “Four Kings”.
