- Description:
A rectangular basin, a wide mouth, a waist, a shallow wall, a flat bottom with two round seepage holes, and four ladder feet. The fetal bone is thick, and the light green glaze is full of blue and ochre spots. The white body is exposed on the sole of the foot, and the four character seal pattern of “made in the year of Yongzheng” is printed under the glaze of the center of the bottom. The glaze surface inside the vessel is mostly eroded, which is the mark of use. The length of this utensil is more than 40 cm. Similar large rectangular flower plates often appear in paintings of the Qing Dynasty, and most of them are mainly planted with tree and stone bonsais in a binding shape. For example, during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, Jin Tingbiao (active in the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty) made the axis of the Painting of Calligraphy by Cao Dajia (hence the painting 03066). In the painting, the white glazed rectangular basin was built with strange stones to cultivate narcissus.
