• Description:
  The bottle is open, short neck, and two bat ears are decorated on both sides. Round folded shoulders, long barrel shaped belly, and close to the bottom to receive the ring feet. White glaze is applied inside the vessel. The surface is cobalt blue, and two white plum trees are painted between them. The flowers are either in bud or blooming, and are covered with branches. The foot wall and bottom are painted with white glaze, and the ground is exposed. The bottom is painted with double green circles. The pattern of blue ground white plum blossom decorated on the surface is similar to the “blue and white plum vase” in Japanese Yongqing Library, while the bottom of the vase is marked by double green circles, which is also similar to the example unearthed from the Shenchuan of Wanjiao No. 1. Since the collection of Yongqing Library and the objects unearthed from Shenchuan were dated to the Kangxi Dynasty, this article can be regarded as fired in the Kangxi Dynasty. The ice plum pattern, which symbolizes the jade bone and ice soul, has become a popular pattern since the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty and appears in various types of handicrafts.
