Turhute tribe is a branch of Moxi Mongolia. In the middle of the 18th century, it traveled eastward from the lower reaches of the Volga River. In September of the 36th year of Qianlong’s reign (1771), Emperor Qianlong met his leader, Wobashi (1742-1775), in Rehe. Wobashi presented the seven treasure Dao and the golden stagger Dao successively. In the 39th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1774), Wobashi presented a set of bronze and gilded fork knives and spoons. It was mentioned in the Imperial Poetry Collection of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty that this set of gifts was packed in leather boxes and handed over to the emperor by the third class bodyguard Ashha. The combination of knives and forks is mainly related to the meat eating habits. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, chopsticks and spoons were the main tableware. The decorative patterns and shapes of this group of tableware were related to the style of Rococo in the 18th century of Russia, and should be the articles of Turhute when it was in Russia.
