Wang Jian (1598-1677) was born in Taicang, Jiangsu Province. It is called “Yuanzhao”, “Yuanzhao”, “Xiangbi”, and “Ranxiang Nunnery Leader”. In the sixth year of Chongzhen reign (1633), he became a member of the imperial court, and later became governor of Lianzhou, known as Wang Lianzhou.
