• Description:
  The milk tea bowl is made by Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory with porcelain imitated Laguri wood texture. There is a so-called “Lakur” wood in the Tibetan Annals. Lakur is also called Lakuri wood. The wood is yellow brown with irregular texture. It is said that it has the effect of detoxifying and avoiding evil spirits. Therefore, the Qing Palace highly valued the wooden milk tea bowl (hence Miscellaneous 000586) and Domu pot made of Lakur wood. In addition to the production of precious wood, Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory also imitated the tea set with Tibetan style, with its shape and wood texture. The milk tea bowl has a wide mouth, a low wall and a wide foot, and the whole body is painted with yellowish brown glaze imitating wood grain. In the seventh year of Yongzheng (1729), the Qing Palace has seen the production of “rosewood magnetic barrel”, which was collected by the court and imitated wooden flowerpots in Yongzheng.
