- Description:
The box shape is made of two bags, which are painted and cut into gold. The two bags of the box cover are decorated with bamboo and diamond shaped flowers respectively. The opening of the bag is in the form of rope binding, and the folds are made in shallow relief to show the texture of cloth. The side is decorated with bamboo, describing the rising bamboo shoots. In the box, a shallow plate of thick pear ground is decorated with diamond shaped brocade ground and bamboo grass. The upper layer of the box is decorated with enamel plates of Western figures in the same shape. From the Shih paint box, you can see how the Qing Palace used it to store antiques. This work originally belonged to a two-layer drawer box. In the upper layer, a wooden frame drawer board was added to store jade articles. Behind the drawer board, there were enamel painted western figures. In the lower layer, there were volumes of Emperor Qianlong’s “Yu Bi Xue Mei” and “Yu Lin Wang Tie”.
