Lang Shining (1688-1766 AD), an Italian, became a monk of the Catholic Jesuit Church at the age of 19. He came to China to preach at the age of 27 and served the imperial court with pictures. He served in the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties. The painting method refers to Chinese and Western painting.
