Ivory balls are made by spinning the tooth material into a sphere with a lathe, making 14 uniformly distributed tapered holes at the center of the sphere, using a right angle hook knife to carve a free sleeve ball layer by layer from the inside out, and then carving various patterns for decoration. This ivory sleeve ball is about 12cm in diameter. Its surface is carved with flying dragons flying among the auspicious clouds. Inside, it is carved with various exquisite brocade patterns. There are 23 layers in total, and each layer can rotate flexibly.
