The comb is a half moon shaped tortoise shell with an arc shaped handle. The handle is painted with paint and decorated with curly grass patterns. This utensil is stored in a Japanese painted rectangular box (hence lacquer 400), placed on a small rectangular plate, and stored in the courtyard collection of “hundreds of pieces of red sandalwood flat dragon square box” (hence miscellaneous 877).
