The painting title of “Spring Dawn in the Palace of Han Dynasty” has been popular since the Ming Dynasty. Although it is related to Mao Yanshou’s portrait of Wang Zhaojun in the Han Dynasty, it actually depicts various activities of ladies in the palace and presents the magnificent scenes of the palace gardens. This volume is a work of the Qing Palace Painting Academy in the third year of Qianlong reign (1739), with contributions from Jin Kun, Lu Zhan, Cheng Zhidao and Wu Gui.
