- Description:
Shen Quan (1624? 1684 AD), whose name is Zhenrui, is Yitang, and is also called Chongzhai. Shunzhi Jinshi, an official of the Ministry of Rites, is good at writing poems and learning and practicing. Shen Quan was a beginner of Dong Qichang’s calligraphy, and in his later years he was able to learn from Mi Fu. He was once summoned to the palace in the Kangxi Dynasty to discuss ancient and modern calligraphy with the emperor. This running script excerpt from the Preface to the Sacred Religion with the Characters of Ji Wang still retains the strength of the calligraphy style of the two kings, but on the whole, the knot characters are inclined, the shoulder frame is long and thin, and the variation of the thickness of the calligraphy and painting is also slightly strengthened, showing the appearance after the influence of Mi Fu and Dong Qichang.
