Jade half-gourd-shaped cup with a ram head decoration, Muslim Border Regions
- Image Number: K1C000336N000000000PAB
- Dynasty: Qing dynasty
- Category: Jades
- Function: Stationery, stationery, container
- Material: Minerals/Jade Jewelry/Jade
- Description:
Blue and white jade, partial light brown spots. Cut a cup with sheep’s head and melon petals. The neck of the sheep forms a continuous triangular edge on the outer wall, and a four tiered pointed junction on the inner wall. These stiff and abrupt lines do not appear on the real Mughal melon petal cup. The hard flat flowers at the bottom of the ware are more imitative of Islamic jade. It can be seen that the jade workers in Xinjiang Hui do not know the Islamic jade they have seen, and they have different sources.
