Jiang Tingxi (1669-1732), a native of Changshu, Jiangsu, was named Yangsun, Xigu, or Bronze Sage. In the 42nd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, he served as a scholar in the cabinet and a lecturer in the banquet at the end of the reign of Emperor Kangxi; In the Yongzheng Dynasty, he was even more important. He once served as the minister of the Ritual Department, the minister of the Ministry of Household Affairs, the great scholar of the Wenhua Hall, the prince and the daughter-in-law. He was not only a minister during the reign of Kangxi and Yongzheng, but also a famous flower and bird painter at that time. His flower and bird paintings are mostly freehand brushwork style with no bones or a little hook drawing, but there are some neat and beautiful fine brushwork works. It can be seen from his works that he learned from many people. In addition to inheriting the style of Yun Shouping School in the early Qing Dynasty, there are also many people who borrowed from ancient flower and bird paintings.
