- Description:
Wang Yuanqi (1642-1715), known as Lutai, was one of the “Four Kings” of the orthodox landscape masters in the early Qing Dynasty. Although this painting imitates Ni Zan’s style, the shapes of rocks are more diversified and the combination is more complex. The style of Huang Gongwang (1269-1354), another Yuan Dynasty master whom he respected, is added to this painting, which shows the vitality of Ni Zan’s style.
